This necklace is made from a 1954 Sixpence coin.
 
Along with Queen Elizabeth II this coin features four crossed sprigs representing the  4 members of the United Kingdom. The tudor rose is for England, leek for Wales,
thistle for Scotland, and shamrock for Northern Ireland.
