The lowly scarab beetle was used to teach ideas of rebirth, transformation, protection, and creation to ancient Egyptians. This beetle's tireless rolling of dung balls was likened to the sun god Khepri pushing the sun across the sky each day. The scarab symbolizes the cycle of life, death, and renewal, serving as powerful amulets for good fortune, warding off evil, and ensuring safe passage to the afterlife.
