This Sand Dollar necklace is made from a Washington State Quarter with a salmon and Mt. Rainer still visible on the front, and George Washington on the back.
 
Along with being a sign of summertime, and a favorite of beach lovers, the sand dollar is meant to bring good luck and fortune. 
Christians have also found unique symbolism in sand dollars. On the front are the five wounds of Christ, and an Easter lily with the Star of Bethlehem.  On the back is the outline of a Poinsettia (Christmas flower), and when broken open, the five “doves” are said to release good will and peace into the world.
