This necklace depicting an Ouroboros encircling a Seed of Life is made from an etched Tunisian coin.
The Ouroboros, or tail-devouring serpent, represents introspection, and the cyclical nature of the universe. This ancient symbol originated in Egypt, where it was used to represent the constant death and rebirth of the sun. The Ouroboros snake sustains life by eating it's own tail, signifying creation from destruction, or life from death.
The Seed of Life consists of seven overlapping circles, and is the basic building block of Sacred Geometry. Pagans considered sacred geometry to hold the fundamental aspects of space and time. It is also thought to contain basic information of all living things, and depict the life connections that run through all sentient beings. This symbol has also been adopted by Christians to represent the seven days of creation.
